Sun Tzu’s Art of War: The Lost Chapter has just launched on Kickstarter. It’s the third mystery adventure game from the China-based company, Tangible Narrative. They produce rich narrative mysteries that feature a selection of beautiful handmade items and ephemera that bring the world of the game alive. You can expect some really special artifacts, police files and research notes to scour through as you search for the hidden truth.
“Step into 1930s Shanghai, piece the clues together, and solve the mystery behind a lost piece of history: a hidden chapter of The Art of War. In a 1930s garden villa that houses the Belgian Consulate, an old desk is sent down to the archives room. While shifting it into place and repairing a loose panel, the archivist triggers a hidden mechanism and uncovers a long-forgotten Evidence Dispatch Bag. Intrigued, he spends the night examining its contents.
Before dawn, sleep overtakes him. His head resting on one forearm. The main dossier folder lies half-open, unconsciously pushed a little toward the visitor’s chair on the other side of the desk. A visitor enters and finds the archivist asleep. The folder is slightly open and within easy reach. Unable to resist curiosity, the visitor gently draws the dossier closer. The pages begin to turn. That visitor is you.”
Due to the sheer number of handmade items featured in this experience, it is only likely to be available through Kickstarter. The games are made to order, usually with a very small number available after the Kickstarter pledges have been delivered. So if you want a copy, I’d recommend backing whilst the campaign is live. As always, you can find full details about the game, what is included and any extras available by clicking below.
